The elderly school-bus monitor whose verbal abuse at the hands of four teenagers prompted a donation campaign when a video of the incident went viral might use some of the money to help mentally-impaired children, reports the New York Daily News.
A campaign to finance a vacation for Karen Klein of Greece, N.Y., in the wake of the sustained bullying, which brought the 68-year-old grandmother to tears, had raised $618,000 on the Web site IndieGoGo as of Saturday.
Amanda Romig, Ms. Klein?s daughter, told the celebrity-news site RadarOnline that Ms. Klein is likely to retire and take several of her children and grandchildren to Disneyland with the money, but also plans on ?making a donation here and there.?
?My nephew has autism and my niece has Down syndrome, and with those types of disabilities the kids are going to get picked on too, so she wants to help both causes,? Ms. Romig said.
