Overview
We are seeking a smart and ambitious Corporate Communications Specialist to fill a new and very unique position at ROBLOX: a talented writer with an interest in technology reporting and social media who will bring the vision of user-generated gaming and technological leadership of ROBLOX to life.
You will create and amplify the stories and themes of ROBLOX, and leverage the resulting content with reporters and across social media. The will work as a member of a team, and with other teams at ROBLOX to create compelling content and correspond with users, reporters, and influencers, guiding deliverables from concept to completion. This position reports to the VP of Marketing but will interact with all members of the ROBLOX staff.
Objective
Create and distribute content that highlights the power of ROBLOX and underscores the vision, leadership, and growth of the company. Strengthen the manner in which ROBLOX listens to and engages with gaming influencers and communities, reporters and bloggers, and professionals who might be interested in joining the ROBLOX team.
Job Description
Create rich and powerful content to engage our community and target readers, including blog posts, videos, interviews, screenshots, surveys, industry research, Facebook posts, tweets, and more.
Develop a full and comprehensive pipeline of content to leverage across all communications channels.
Help ROBLOX demonstrate thought leadership in ways that are relevant to our community and business. Includes authoring or ghost-writing blog posts, orchestrating and submitting guest contributions in other publications, securing interviews with ROBLOX staff and/or outside subject-matter experts, and more.
Build relationships with relevant bloggers and reporters, and keep them apprised of noteworthy developments and milestones at ROBLOX.
Create and maintain a calendar of press releases, and compose draft for executive review and approval.
Assist in other critical marketing and communications projects with members of the ROBLOX team, as needed.
Qualifications
This new Corporate Communications Specialist position has been created with a specific person in mind:
Ideal candidate has graduated from a top-tier university with an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in Communications, English, Political Science, History or other Liberal Arts major, or perhaps Engineering (but with great writing skills).
You are a brilliant writer, itching for an opportunity to demonstrate your skills.
You can adopt a tone, an approach, a voice to your writing style that reflects the brand attributes and goals of ROBLOX.
You are adept with social media, and not afraid to wield their power.
You are highly detail oriented and possess a get-it-done mentality.
You have a strong interest in new technology, venture, and/or gaming industries.
You see the articles that TechCrunch produces and think ?not bad, but I can do better.?
You are prepared to commit yourself to the pace and intensity of a startup.
You are proficient with MS Word, blogging, tweeting, Facebook, and the Internet in general.
Previous experience as a writer or blogger is preferred.
Writing samples will be requested and read completely.
Must be eligible for full-time employment without restriction.

Compensation
Salary negotiable, based on experience and/or qualifications. Stock options, health insurance benefits, and a 401k program are part of the complete compensation package at ROBLOX.
